- One April 1st Dan Coats announced that he will not be returning to the senate. According to Daily Kos Elections Eric Holcomb is running for Coats' senate seat. This site also mentions how "Holcomb has close ties to influential state Republicans, including former Gov. Mitch Daniels, and he should be able to easily raise the money he'll need to win here." At this time the democrats have no official candidate.
