Coats Committees Assignments

On Coats' senate page there a statement pointing out why Coats decided to return to the senate. Meet Dan stated that "Dan Coats returned to the U.S. Senate in January 2011 to focus on cutting wasteful spending, reducing the national debt and promoting a pro-growth economic policy to put Hoosiers and Americans back to work. Dan has proved that he plans to tackle these issues with the committees he's found himself on. As of the start of the 114th congress Coats sits on the Finance, Select Intelligence, and Joint Economic Committee.

- Coat is in favor of repealing Obamacare, on March 23rd Coats released this statement about the five-year anniversary of Obamacare. “The effects of Obamacare are clear—costs are rising, choices are reduced and family budgets are strained. On top of the massive load of job-killing regulations Obamacare has imposed on businesses, the president’s signature law has not delivered on its promises. It remains an unpopular, massive intrusion of the federal government into the individual lives of Hoosiers. As the Senate considers a budget plan this week, we have an excellent opportunity to set up a framework to repeal and replace this disastrous law once and for all.” Dan Coats
